Denise A. Clark, Esq.Denise A. Clark has been providing legal counsel and education for over 20 years. She focuses her practice in the areas of estate planning, elder law, guardianship and probate. In addition, Denise’s unique qualifications expand past the law to include her licensure as a registered pharmacist. This combination of education and experience enables Denise to understand, assist and advise clients on a number of emotional and complicated medical/legal issues including all areas of long term care planning and obtaining long term care services.

Professional Experience

Upon graduation from law school, Denise worked for Wharton, Levin, Ehrmantraut, Klein & Nash in Annapolis, Maryland as a litigator representing physicians, nurses and hospitals in medical malpractice lawsuits. After moving to Vermont, Denise worked for the law firms of Cleary Shahi Associates; Clarke, Demas & Baker; and more recently, with McClallen & Associates, P.C. before joining Melendy Moritz PLLC.

Education

Denise has been very involved in her community since moving to Vermont in 1999. She has served as a Director of the Rutland Downtown Partnership and as a Director on the Vermont Achievement Center Board. Additionally, she served as a Mendon School Board Director and Barstow School Board Director for six years. During her tenure as school board director, Denise also served as a member of the Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union Board and on the Executive Committee of the Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union Board. Currently, Denise is a Director of the Vermont Pharmacy Association and sits as a Committee Member of the Governor’s Health Care Workforce Committee.

Personal

Denise was raised in North Carolina and after a brief stop in Annapolis, Maryland, moved to Vermont with her husband, Ben, and two daughters in 1999. She spends her free time hiking, skiing, snow shoeing, sailing, cooking and reading. She especially enjoys watching her daughters on the race hill.
